12 month FTC to perm IT Project Manager role - £70,000-75,000 - Agile Software Development

50% remote / 50% office based Camden (from October/November)

Large Media Client in London have picked a third party supplier to create and implement a new system, they are lookin for a Senior IT Project Manager with experience dealing with third party supplier and Agile Software Development.

You will need to be a hands-on Project Manager with the experience and passion for delivering business change involving the introduction of a new & large enterprise-wide IT system into a large team (of around 300 users).

- You will organise and motivate the project team and others involved in ensuring it's a success

- You have significant experience managing software suppliers, with confidence through experience to challenge their processes and approaches if required

- You are comfortable and able to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and using an iterative method and flexible approach to enable rapid delivery

Project planning:

You will own the end-to-end project plan, this includes:

  • developing and updating project plans (working in conjunction with the business & wider Tech team)
  • manage progress, ensuring project plans and documents capture the right detail and deliverables are clear
  • execute the agreed project plan and produce deliverables

Supplier Management:

You will build & maintain a positive working relationship with the system supplier, this includes:

  • working with the supplier's representative(s) to continually develop a joint delivery strategy
  • ensuring project plans detail the specific deliverables and that they are achieved on-time
  • not being afraid to ask difficult and searching questions when needed

Stakeholder Management:

You will forge strong working relationships with product owners & stakeholders, this includes:

  • implementing a stakeholder management plan to ensure successful project deliveries
  • providing clear, concise, accurate and timely project reports
  • keeping Product Owner and other key stakeholders up to date on any emerging issues

Scope Management

You will ensure that the project is self-contained and does not meander, this includes:

  • managing and controlling the scope
  • ensuring scope change requests are captured, analysed and documented
  • agreeing changes in scope with Product Owner & Project Board before committing

Communication & Reporting:

You will develop and implement a communication & reporting strategy, this includes:

  • building a Stakeholder map and forging good relations with the individuals & groups.
  • listening to and understanding stakeholder requirements of the project.
  • ensuring updates are timely and relevant to the stakeholder(s) interest in the project

Resource Planning:

You will manage internal resources & ensure the supplier assigns the right resources to achieve the project objective and meets the agreed timeline, this includes:

  • planning out work breakdown structures that support the overall goal
  • ensuring each team has the relevant and correct information
  • ensuring each team knows what others are working on & how this relates to the overall aims

Time Management:

You will create & implement a time management plan, this includes ensuring:

  • activities are defined, sequenced, and each activity has been arcuately estimated
  • controls are in place so each workstream is clear about its priorities on a rolling basis
  • deliverables & objectives are broken down into smaller chunks by workstreams & individuals

Budget tracking:

You will manage the project within approved budget, this includes:

  • establishing control costs ensuring variations are approved, specifically changes in scope
  • ensuring project progress and project spend are aligned, highlighting any risk of overspend
  • producing monthly project finance summary, reporting actuals and updating forecasts

Risk Management:

You will develop and risk management plan, this includes:

  • establishing a risk register to monitor and control risks
  • risks are captured & assessed correctly and that each risk has an owner
  • ensuring risk owners identify mitigation & contingency plan for each
  • managing the RAID log(s)

Agile / Sprint:

You will contribute to the end-to-end Sprint planning process, this includes:

  • working with internal experts to manage the development of detailed requirements and User Stories
  • working with both supplier and internFal stakeholders in planning each Sprint
  • conducting post-Sprint review meetings to confirm all requirements have been fulfilled
  • leading daily scrums when required
