IT Manager - London - £60,000 - £80,000

A leading Telecoms company are looking for an IT Manager to help bring IT back in house and add accountability to the current UK IT state.

This role will be a major part of the UK IT team


  • Oversee IT operations management that includes computer systems, servers, storages, network management (LAN & WLAN), cloud services, IP telephony, printing services, connectivity, application software, backups & restore, process automation/optimization etc.
  • To work with the group infrastructure and operations team, based internationally and to ensure that the IT infrastructure and applications in the London office are maintained to the group standards and within group guidelines and policies and to industry best practices
  • To work with the business teams in London to ensure a thorough understanding of their needs and to translate this into the possible solutions within the bounds of the groups IT standards and strategy
  • Perform infrastructure trend and capacity monitoring and make recommendation for performance improvement and/or cost savings where applicable.
  • Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration.
  • Implementation and management of IT services in line with industry best practices. Ensure service levels are in place for the business teams in London and agreed with the group infrastructure and operations team
  • Coordinate all activities in response to major incidents in the London office impacting the business and serve as local escalation point for major Incidents.
  • Prompt preparation and timely release of major incident reports to the line manager for review/analysis before submission.

Experience Required:

  • Technical knowledge of computer hardware/software and related diagnostic tools.
  • Experience in end-user office systems support
  • Knowledge of application software, databases, networks (Cisco), PABX/VOIP, Firewalls (Sophos & ASA), Windows severs and storages.
  • Experience in Sharepoint, Power Apps and Power BI or a willingness to learn
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of ITSM tools and applications.
  • Knowledge and experience supporting internet IP Access/IPLC services, video conferencing and supporting infrastructure.
  • IT service delivery
  • Incident, problem, change and asset management.
