IT Lead Business Analyst

Job Title: IT Lead Business Analyst - Back Office (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Salary: £55,000 + Benefits

Location: Slough

IT Lead Business Analyst is required to join a company specialising in financial services, supporting the IT Change/Portfolio/BI Manager to use best practice project and change management techniques and ITIL methodology and process to promote quality delivery of the IT portfolio of projects and change within their area of the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the IT representative and owner for technical tasks required for Project and liaise accordingly with the IT Change/Portfolio/BI Manager or IT Director for advice/guidance where needed to ensure a timely and successful delivery.

  • Work with Torrent IT Project Manager and wider SMEs to define and deliver the overall project plan and implementation

  • Work with the project SMEs to map out and document the necessary business processes paying particular attention to the interfaces and data feeds required for the effective management of fleet contracts throughout their lifecycle

  • Liaise accordingly with third party vendors to setup, configure and test all necessary integrations including the provision and receipt of data feeds as necessary.

  • Work with all departments affected during the lifecycle of a contract and ensure that their requirements have been addressed and catered for within the system capabilities.

    Where gaps in default system functionality are identified, work with the relevant business areas to innovate and present pragmatic workarounds to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Produce clear and detailed documentation of operational business requirements, including functional and non-functional requirements for identified gaps with a view for delivery in future phases of Project.

  • Work with the IT Operations team and business stakeholders to establish service design and service levels for new or changed IT systems/services/applications

  • Ensure quality process, applications and systems documentation is provided and/or updated as a result of any change

  • Ensure all changes follow best practice security guidelines, such that capabilities and service provided are 'secure by design'

  • Undertake acceptance testing and ensure all testing is completed in line with test plans

  • Arrange for provision of training as appropriate in new or updated processes or application capability, ensuring that users and first line support are fully aware of changes

    • Create and maintain a library of business process documentation, and actively promote simplification and automation of business processes

    • Undertake application configuration across test, UAT and pre-prod environments, working with IT Operations team staff to promote changes to production in line with best practice operational controls

    • Understand and influence 3rd party software development roadmaps under the guidance of the Change/Portfolio/BI Manager

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Good understanding of IT applications and services, with technical IT background, ideally in the financial services/automotive sector with a focus on leasing/contract hire

  • Basic understanding of ITIL Service Strategy and Service Transition processes, ideally at least ITIL Foundation certified

  • In-depth practical experience of business analysis and process mapping techniques.

  • Practical understanding of IT project, programme, and portfolio management; experience of Agile methods would be advantageous

  • Expertise within the software development life cycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of software applications

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially relating to presentation of complex information clearly, simply and in the wider business context

  • Self-motivated with good problem-solving ability

  • Experience of creating and executing test plans

  • Experience of applications architecture/solution design would be an advantage

  • Able to deliver quality under pressure

  • Ideally degree educated

  • Customer focussed, flexible, pragmatic, and decisive

  • SQL Server basic understanding for both roles. For Lead BA Front Office, technical understanding of web and mobile technologies would also be advantageous
