You will be part of the IT Operations team responsible for managing all aspects of the IT Infrastructure - including Microsoft Windows Server platforms and related technologies (Server 2008, 2012, 2016, Exchange on premise, Active Directory, Group Policy), SQL database, SAN (EMC & Eternus) storage, backup, archive, virtualisation (VMWare), Citrix XenDesktop, Linux, secure printing, desktop infrastructure (including laptop operating system Gold builds & HP Thin Clients), voice and data networks (LAN / WAN / WIFI) - across the organisation including Disaster Recovery testing, patching, new deployments, upgrades and migrations.
Responsible for the day to day management (24 x 7 therefore on call), troubleshooting, maintenance and technical development of the entire IT infrastructure to ensure availability and stability of all IT systems.
IT system monitoring and reaction to critical & major alerts i.e. reacting positively and calmly to ensure the correct steps are taken for remedial action
Positively managing planned and unplanned downtime with the business both during operational hours and outside of operational hours
Managing and maintaining software licensing in order to keep compliant
Managing 3rd party suppliers to ensure service stability and availability
Recommending opportunities for improvement with a view to decreasing workload and/or cost
Sign off authority on technical changes that may have an impact on system stability and availability
Managing Disaster Recovery activities in the event of DR invocation
Responsible for ensuring we are secure from a technical perspective 24 x 7
Responsible for monitoring and decision making whilst 'on call'
