IT Disaster Recovery Manager (BC/DR)

Global Pharmaceutical company require an IT Disaster Recover Manager to establish a Risk Based Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity framework.

The DR & BC Manager will handle all aspects of a Disaster Recovery program ensuring the back-up and off-site storage strategy protects the company. The DR Manager will complete a cost benefit analysis to compare the cost of implementing business continuity strategies against the value of the assets at risk and asses the risk of critical business process and the impact on people, premises, process and technology.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • Created a Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Strategy for a highly-regulated industry (ideally Pharmaceutical/Finance)
  • Disaster Recovery management practices, compliance practices, corporate policies, laws and regulations governing BCP/DRP protocols e.g BCM standards promoted by BCI and DR, and ISO 22301.
  • Developed emergency management plans for recovery decision making and communications, continuity of critical departmental processes, or temporary shut-down of non-critical departments to ensure continuity of operation and governance.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders.
  • Develop disaster recovery plans for physical locations with critical assets such as data centres
  • Test documented disaster recovery strategies and plans.
  • Analyse impact on, and risk to, essential business functions or information systems to identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.
  • Write reports to summarize testing activities, including descriptions of goals, planning, scheduling, execution, results, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Create or administer training and awareness presentations or materials.
  • Experience developing a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to quantify and qualify potential impacts of events on the company and its operations to prepare Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) that meet business needs and contractual obligations.
