A leading entertainment firm are embarking on their ServiceNow journey, you will land in a newly created role and be the SME in the Asset & Configuration space. You will take ownership of their Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and IT asset management strategy. This role will be instrumental in defining best practices, improving data quality, and supporting the adoption of ITIL-based processes.
Salary: £70,000 – £75,000 + benefits.
Location: Buckinghamshire (Hybrid)
With a ServiceNow ITSM implementation underway, this position will also play a key role in shaping and optimizing the CMDB and Asset Database, working closely with developers to refine requirements and drive automation over time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a CMDB & IT asset management strategy aligned with business goals.
- Define and enforce policies for configuration and asset data quality, relationships, and compliance.
- Own the Service Asset & Configuration Management (SACM) process, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Maintain an accurate CMDB model, ensuring all Configuration Items (CIs) and their relationships are effectively managed.
- Oversee CI and asset audits, ensuring data integrity and driving remediation efforts.
- Work with service providers to govern IT asset lifecycles from procurement to retirement.
- Track software licenses and usage, ensuring compliance and cost optimization.
- Support the ongoing ServiceNow CMDB deployment, including scoping and writing user stories.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in Configuration & Asset Management
- Strong understanding of ITIL best practices (ITIL v3 or v4 certification preferred).
- Experience managing a CMDB on the ServiceNow platform
- Ability to define and implement policies, processes, and governance frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for data quality and reporting.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work autonomously, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution.
