requirement for an Infrastructure Project Manager (the "Consultant"). The Consultant is required to deliver against a number of tasks as set out below along with unplanned works that may be required during the contractual period (the "Assignment").

There is a number of high profile projects approved by Executive Management that form part of key work programmes targeting efficiency and effectiveness across the Business. The Infrastructure Project Manager will be responsible for delivery of one or more Infrastructure projects within the strategic Infrastructure programme.


  • OBJECTIVE

  • The objective of the Assignment is for the Consultant to manage the delivery of a cloud based Meeting Room Booking System (MRBS) project, and other infrastructure projects, as required. The Consultant will be required to:

    • Ensure the MRBS project delivers the agreed outputs within the specified constraints of time, cost and quality
    • Engage with business and technical stakeholders and the supplier to deliver the solution, including integrations with systems
    • Work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure appropriate controls and reporting are in place
    • Manage the definition and transition to an agreed support model, ensuing effective knowledge transition to IT and business support teams
    • Manage other infrastructure projects, as required

    The Consultant shall be required to provide documentation of all elements of the scoped works. The Consultant shall work as an integral part of the Infrastructure Team, alongside the existing technical teams, and ensure suitable knowledge transfer from project implementation to operational support teams.

    III. EXPERIENCE

    The Consultant shall have the following skills and experience:

    • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
    • Significant experience in the delivery of infrastructure projects, with some application project delivery experience
    • 8+ years' experience in delivery of infrastructure projects
    • Experience operating in a complex organisational environment dealing with senior members of staff
    • Experience of working using Waterfall and Agile project methodologies
    • Strong understanding and knowledge of project management principles, terminology, key success factors, and methodologies
    • Experience of managing the full life cycle of project delivery including creation of production processes and procedures and support model requirements and Business acceptance & handover

  • SCOPE OF WORK

  • The Consultant shall carry out the following tasks under the Assignment:

    • Lead, direct and motivate project team to deliver the projects through to completion
    • Have a technical appreciation for deliverables to make sure the project delivers the required benefits
    • Co-ordinate the procurement of external resources and services for project implementations
    • Management of key internal stakeholder relationships to ensure the delivery of the project implementations
    • Management of the all aspects of the project on a day-to-day basis in accordance with best practice
    • Management of project budgets, ensuring any over-runs are communicated to the Infrastructure Programme manager, project sponsors and governance committees in a timely manner
    • Management of project risks and issues with an agreed level of authority, including, when necessary, the development of contingency plans
    • Reporting of project progress and the escalation of issues and risks to the project governance committee(s)
    • Delivery of key project documentation for the project team and project sponsors including the Project Initiation document, Detailed Design document, regular progress update reports and the Project End report
    • Assistance with the definition and adoption of IT project management standards based on best practice for development initiatives to ensure projects are properly managed and deliver expects benefits

  • IMPLEMENTATION ARRANGEMENTS

  • The Consultant shall report to the Infrastructure Programme Manager and work closely with the Director of Infrastructure & Operations as well as Directors and Associate Directors across the department.


  • DELIVERABLES

  • The Consultant shall carry out all the tasks specified in Section IV "Scope of Work" to the satisfaction of the Director of Infrastructure and Operations.

    The Consultant shall work under the direct supervision of and report to the Manager on all activities as specified in the above section "Scope of Services" and provide deliverables as requested by the Manager.
