Head of Operations - London - £125,000 - £135,000

La Fosse Associates are currently searching for a highly motivated and entrepreneurial, Head of Operations to work within a high growth start up. This business has just received substantial funding and are looking to bolster their, already, successful team with an outstanding Head of Operations.

Primary Objectives

The following primary objectives have been identified for the Head of Operations:


  • Strong expertise in start-up strategy and organisational design is essential. A proven ability to be a catalyst for change and an ability to collaboratively create and implement company strategy to drive business value and growth is important.
  • Drive the business forward. Understand the key drivers of the operation and make sure those key levers and KPIs are understood, measured and improved by the teams. Own all the metrics and reporting to investors, the Board and the team.
  • Work with the CEO and founders to deliver the businesses strategy.


  • Drive frameworks to create high performance, delivery across the business, with goal setting, OKRs.
  • Culture - connect to the values and promote these across the business holding people accountable to them.
  • Lead on internal processes and communications to ensure failures and learnings are fed back into the business and little and big wins are celebrated by the team.
  • Communicate seamlessly with internal stakeholders, understanding the whole business and identify risks and opportunities within departments. Share frameworks to empower colleagues and drive autonomy across the company and within teams.
  • Lead, manage and grow an effective operations team that is the engine that the rest of the business can rely on. This will include establishing policies that promote a company culture and vision and creating rituals that ensure smooth business functioning and communications.
  • Be hands on, it is essential the incoming Head of Operations is happy to be hands on and stay close to the process.

Finance & Operations

  • Supporting the CEO on the funding strategy and fundraising process.
  • Putting in place the structures and processes to enable high-growth scale.
  • Evolving budgets, models and forecasts, providing guidance on them in relation to the strategic and operational plan for the company.
  • Financially literate
  • Responsibility for the relationships with external service providers (lawyers, accountants, banks etc) ensuring value for money and quality of service.
  • Managing company secretarial and board governance activities.
