Head of IT - £70,000 - £75,000 - Travel and Leisure Industry

La Fosse are currently engaged exclusively with a growing Travel business based in London. They are in the market for a Head of IT to lead and develop their technology function in the UK.

We are looking for individuals with a strong commercial acumen and the ability to work as a Head of IT within an ambitious Travel business.

Key Responsibilities/Objectives:

  • Managing the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade, performance uptime and support of all IT systems and infrastructure including servers, hardware, software, reservation systems, technology solutions and communications networks for our company. Note all IT solutions are third-party and our company uses a third-party managed service provider for hardware and network
  • Design and deliver all IT projects (including for 2019 a new Leisure CRM system; upgraded Leisure reservation system; upgraded Corporate client MI system; new NDC airline content and ever-evolving Corporate trading platform and online booking tool)
  • Seek ways to increase efficiency, productivity and profitability through smart use of technology and lead the implementation of these ideas across the business
  • Lead, motivate and manage the 2-3 person internal IT team and personally project manage all large IT projects across the Company
  • Review and improve company technical and telephony infrastructure and ensure it is 'fit for purpose' including disaster recovery and business continuity
  • Input into strategy including developing strategic road-maps for technology for both Leisure and Corporate businesses
  • Own and evolve all IT policies and procedures
  • Ensure company systems and data are secure at all times, managing and working closely with third-party managed service provider
  • Be the IT Compliance Manager, with responsibilities for PCI compliance and GDPR

Professional competencies:

  • Must have GDS experience, ideally working knowledge of Amadeus
  • Tour Operator reservation systems experience, Travelink preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong project management skills, agile expertise would be an advantage
  • Have worked in a Travel business
  • A track record in managing external suppliers

  • Natural leader, who is not afraid to 'muck in and do' as well as lead
  • Works well under pressure and delivers to deadlines

  • Positive, can-do attitude
