Job title | Head of IT Infrastructure and Operations | Scotland | Reports to UK CIO

Salary | £80k - £90k plus package

Financial/budget accountabilities: £20m+ budget

Key accountabilities/responsibilities

Provides overall direction, guidance, definition and maintenance of the I&O strategy, policies and roadmap and use of shared services across all Operating Companies. Ensuring its integration with the overall IT and enterprise strategic plans and any specific demands unique to an Operating Company

Acts as a trusted advisor, and builds and maintains relationships with other IT leaders and business executives to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensures cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs, and is able to respond with agility to changing business priorities.

Oversees service delivery performance and reporting against SLA, ensures effective change control and major incident management is followed and acts as an escalation point for service delivery issues.

Skills & aptitudes required

  • Experience in business/industry (beyond IT), managing cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders
  • Ability to inspire and relate to technical staff at all levels.
  • 5+ years enterprise service management in a global or federated environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of ITIL and ITSM standards.
  • Strong supplier management skills and working with major IT vendors ITIL accreditation.
  • Strong service orientation, with a flexible can-do approach
  • European and UK travel

Graduate in an IT related discipline, Masters degree

Certified member of a professional body - Chartered IT Professional (CITP), MBCS
