Head of Engineering sought to join an ever-scaling, multinational Technology organisation in their central London office, with occasional travel to European sites.

This is a dual role; one aspect being the line manager for the Engineering Department of between 50-60 people in a large-scale global engineering function (engineers, test engineers and SREs), and the other being the Delivery lead in the UK.

It is not a programme manager role, but the Head of Engineering will have in mind how the programme will be delivered.

There are a series of team leads working below the Head of Engineering, and the individual must ensure that everyone works cohesively across the programme. Therefore they must have experience managing managers.

It's imperative that the Head of Engineering enjoys working with people and setting up organisational structures to encourage personal development and facilities feedback to the teams on their progress.

The Head of Engineering will lead an operation of 50-60 people, so the ability to delegate is vital. They will also be required to support directly where needed and understand code (and know the timescales of how long things should take) and have experience guiding commercial teams to achieve the delicate balance of feasibility and viability.

This role will suit a technical professional, with a solid background in software engineering and architecture with understanding of the full SDLC, methodologies and frameworks.

The role requires a proactive induvial, who plans ahead and thinks of problems and the solutions to these problems, and is able to try, build and fail, quickly.

The interview process will start with a telephone interview with two senior technical managers, followed by onsite interviews.

Salary is dependant on experience etc. ballpark £120-140k base + benefits.
