The job:

My client needs a highly experienced and skilled technical Head of Digital Delivery to deliver an ambitious Digital programme and transformation of the IT Digital Delivery function. Reporting to the IT Delivery Director, you will be responsible for delivering the strategic digital vision and roadmap, ensuring increasingly efficient and effective delivery of a growing pipeline of digital products and services.

Aligning vision and delivery to corporate objectives and customer needs, you will ensure a well thought-out rationale for developing products and services to meet those objectives and needs efficiently. You will have very robust digital delivery experience, able to get hands on with technical teams, while ensuring you balance your time effectively between strategy, engagement of senior stakeholders, and delivery of multiple digital tracks, ensuring strong and appropriate governance is in place.

Liaising with IT colleagues, stakeholders, business/product owners and SMEs from across the organisation on a frequent basis, this role requires excellent leadership, gravitas, senior stakeholder engagement, control of large and complex budgets, and skillful management of internal and partner teams, ensuring efficient delivery of all digital initiatives and backlog features from inception through business readiness and acceptance to hand-off into operational support.

What they will expect from you:

  • A highly experienced leader and motivator of people.
  • Significant experience managing suppliers and engaging stakeholders to Board level from multiple previous environments
  • Significant experience (6-8 years) managing large, complex, multi-million pound agile digital e-commerce programmes including cloud-based websites and apps integrating to third party systems and cloud data stores.
  • Relevant commercial experience of high volume B2C transactional platforms, with excellent understanding of commercial drivers including revenue/yield and occupancy management.
  • Proven track record of delivering a variety of end-to-end Digital, mobile-first products and services across both Website and Mobile App
  • Extensive experience directly managing agile technical teams, hands-on.
  • Strong record of transforming/transitioning digital delivery functions to a more mature, agile, efficient, automated delivery model.
  • Demonstrable experience managing mixed onshore / offshore, multi-stream digital programmes with a pragmatic approach to refining and improving delivery methodology.
  • Excellent financial control, demand planning and resource management skills.
  • Demonstrable experience of implementing efficient programme governance models
  • Experience of managing offshore delivery teams
