The Company:

We are a national, forward thinking, agile organisation, servicing over 10 million customers currently going through one of the largest digital transformation projects in our history. Lead a team of nearly 200 people delivering live data services to over 500 organisations, with in excess of 20,000 data transfers per annum.

The Role:

The Head of Data will be responsible for the security and integrity of data services, and be responsible for rationalising the catalogue of data transfers and reducing the cost to serve. You will work closely with senior leaders, and other industry leaders to set and implement our strategy as well as take responsibility for agile project teams that transform internal and external data into authoritative sources, insightful context, meaningful BI, reliable analytics and consumable statistics offered through APIs, embedded visualisation and interactive charts.

Required Skills:

  • Experience of leading a large-scale data and analytics function in a complex fast paced organisation, such as government, retail, or banking and financial services.
  • Proven ability to drive delivery of a diverse and complex portfolio of projects and services. Experience of managing change within an organisation of similar complexity.
  • Significant experience of managing relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders and ability to develop effective partnerships.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills to translate technical concepts and issues into easy to understand propositions and secure buy-in.
  • Ability to lead and scale mixed discipline agile teams with a range of expertise instilling a high performance delivery culture driven by user needs.
  • Aptitude to understand complex issues that may be outside of established skill sets, such as statistical policy or data architecture.
