Head of Architecture


Lead Architect / Data / Platform / Leadership / IT Strategy


La Fosse are working with an SME insurance organisation to find them a new Head of Architecture and join their IT Senior Leadership Team. Reporting to the CTO, you will have overall accountability for Architecture, across all domains.

With several key programmes running, including migration to a new data platform & introducing automation to various processes - you'll be responsible for ensuring these are delivered in-line with enterprise technology guardrails. You will also have accountability for Architecture maturity - ensuring documentation, processes, frameworks are in-place as well as ensuring that the function operates effectively with other parts of IT.

Key Experience Required:

  • Experience as a Head of Architecture or Lead Architect, ideally managing a small number of Architects either directly or via projects/3rd

  • Broad technical background across multiple domains - applications, data, infrastructure, integration & security architecture.

  • An understanding of microservices & event-driven architecture and how to transition an organisation away from monolithic legacy services to this.

  • Strong understanding of data would be a sizeable advantage - either working in a data-heavy organisation, with high volumes of customer data or an underlying knowledge of data platforms (cloud-hosted).

  • Experience working in multiple industries.

  • Strong communication skills.

This role will be hybrid, with time needed in either the London or Milton Keynes, with flexibility to go to both, on average 1-2 days per week in the office.
