My client based in Preston are looking to hire a Group Director of Technology on a Permanent basis. My client is one of the UK leading businesses in their field. This requires an ambitious and experienced IT professional who is keen to join an organisation where they can provide outstanding leadership and provide modernisation to this already thriving business.

The Group Director of Technology is responsible for setting the vision and strategy for the Technology function, ensuring processes are owned and maturing; and for executing on the strategy both in day to day operational excellence and managing the IT estate to that vision end state.

They represent technology management function at a senior level and act as an escalation point for business stakeholders.

They are responsible for the IT Operations (think ITIL functions, inc Helpdesk), Application Development and for building an architecture capability across the Group.

A key deliverable for the role is to modernise the function - its culture, process, practices and technology to meet our customers raised expectations.

The role holder must be digitally savvy and understand technologies role in a digital business and digital economy.

Required skills and experience:

10+ years in a technology field, at least 5 demonstrating successful leadership and management of change.

Have experience in delivering effectively at pace.

Have a track record of delivering commercial outcomes and adding value.

Have exceptional leadership skills and be able to collaborate and support the team.

Have outstanding decision-making skills, particularly under pressure.
