The formation of a coherent and centralised data capability is at the heart of the major global digital transformation programme this business is undergoing. As the Head of BI you will be responsible for the delivery of the BI element of this capability through the implementation of a BI Centre of Excellence, which will harmonise a variety of approaches internationally into a single global BI strategy.

Based in the UK but with global scope you will define the strategy and delivery of the CoE which will incorporate existing data skillsets within the business as well as build new capabilities around these.

The vision for the BI CoE is based on:

  • Powerful End-User Self-Serve; easy access to data through tooling to drive rapid insight
  • Business Partners based in country to support strategy and country alignment and share best practice across LP
  • Centralised CoE leadership to drive strategy definition and implementation
  • Centralised engineering & management of a common Data infrastructure / repositories
  • Centralised delivery capability for complex/standardised BI/reporting/analytics

  • This role will need to drive the transformation of these capabilities into a fully formed Global BI Centre of Excellence. As an energetic, dynamic BI Leader, you will be an effective change agent to bring about the necessary cultural, structural and process changes needed in the existing (BI) teams and structures to deliver the BI CoE Vision.

The BI CoE will sit alongside other data "centres of excellence" including a Data Science capability and therefore this role will require strong stakeholder management to ensure that approaches are complimentary to each other and also drive alignment of OpCos to the Global BI Strategy.

    You will have:

    • Solid experience of successfully leading BI and Data Warehousing teams across multiple geographies
    • Experience in defining and implementing successful BI and Analytics Strategy across people, process and technology
    • Proven experience of managing complex matrix organisations and stakeholder relationships
    • Experience delivering change in SAP BI Environments (Business Warehouse, BW/4Hana, Business Objects, Lumira)
    • Strong engagement and outcome-based delivery ethic.
    • Solid coaching ethic, with a great record of developing people.
    • Experience of delivering in Agile (Scrum) environments.
    • Proven experience of building strong and effective relationships with team, stakeholders, customers and partners.
    • Excellent inter-personal & communication skills, ability to communicate effectively across all levels
    • Proven ability to influence without authority.
    • Strong change advocacy and leadership.
    • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise key issues in a highly dynamic environment.
    • Energetic and proactive mindset.
    • Excellent communicator - fluent in business English - written and verbal.
    • Financial Services experience desirable.
