Finance Manager with deep accounting knowledge to Support VP Finance within a well known publishing company.

Provides strategic finance support to business leaders to drive delivery on business objectives. Partners with Centers of Excellence, Financial Control and Finance leadership to ensure smooth implementation for all Finance activities. Drives value through financial insight into business decisions, supported by structured analysis and strong commercial acumen.

This is finance position supporting the VP Finance in acting as a Business Partner to senior leadership within the Global Product organisation.

Main activities/responsibilities:

* Support VP Finance, Global Product as a business partner to senior leadership, advising on financial matters and ensuring delivery of business and operational objectives
* Collaborate with the Value Realisation Office ("VRO") on management of Product Portfolio set up and tracking of project structure, budgeting/forecasting, and tracking of actual results. Understanding of cost base and the ability to apply to financial analysis and business case support.
* Oversight of actual monthly results and KPIs and review informed and insightful commentary for a number of areas within Global Product.
* Highlight key risks and opportunities within functions and providing insights
* Support decisions on project and portfolio investments, ensuring they are measured against financial targets
* Manage Balance Sheet budgeting/forecasting, Annual Impairment Reviews, and frequent risk assessment of balance sheet
* Identify and address operational improvement and cost opportunities.

Contribute and support to Global Product Finance transformation initiatives as required.

* Develop and prepare financial business cases with support from PFS. Support decisions on pipeline investments, ensuring they are measured against financial targets
* Work collaboratively with PFS to deliver key reporting, planning and forecasting processes providing accurate and timely future facing data on which to base decisions
* Understand the businesses regulatory and audit requirements and ensure they are adhered to
* Consistent and extensive collaboration within Finance, including colleagues in Geographies, Assessments, Enabling Functions, Country hub operations and Centres of excellence.
* Management responsibility for one temporary Business Analyst, directing, supervising and reviewing work to ensure that it is performed to a high standard.
* Ensure the business always remains in line with control standards.

* Experience of Oracle Project Accounting / Hyperion / OBIA (preferred but not required)
* Excellent Excel skills

* Deep accounting knowledge - qualification as an accountant or MBA degree
* Proven business partnering experience (3 years +)
* Well proven ability to conduct business case and investment analysis and capital asset evaluation
* Qualified with demonstrable experience in management accounting role
* Experience in a project accounting environment - preferably Oracle Project Accounting
