Background:

We have been exclusively retained by Moorfields Eye Hospital, who together with the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, is the oldest and largest centre for ophthalmic treatment, teaching and research in Europe.

They are hiring an Enterprise Architect, a brand-new role for the organisation, to sit on the CIO's leadership team and responsible for outlining the roadmap & target architecture for Moorfields over the next 1-3 years.

This is a broad and visible role, with key relationships across both IT & the Business in which it will set a vision for IT across four main areas:

  • The selection & subsequent integration of a new Electronic Patient Record System into the IT landscape.

  • Evolution and transition of the IT systems & infrastructure estate towards the cloud.

  • Helping Moorfields see the value of data, through designing effective reference data architectures and the key role that modern data tools & the cloud play in the analysis of data.

  • Ensuring that the development of a new Smart Hospital, including state-of-the-art facilities management software, is aligned to the current & future IT landscape.

Key Experience Required:

  • Strong Architecture experience either as an Enterprise or Solution Architect with track record of designing multi-year roadmaps.

  • Knowledge of the healthcare sector & aware of the role of key systems, notably Electronic Patient Record Systems (EPR).

  • Good understanding of the role of data and the latest cloud-based tools & techniques which can allow advanced insights.

  • Exposure & experience with multi-cloud providers (GCP, Azure or AWS).
