Specialising in pain management, oncology, and respiratory health, they play a pivotal role in the hospital and specialist care sectors. With access to rich, complex datasets across the business, they’re now embarking on a transformative journey-investing heavily in AI and data science to drive decision-making and innovation, particularly in R&D and commercial operations.

The Opportunity

As Director of Data & AI, you will be at the forefront of this transformation. Reporting into the recently appointed CIO, you’ll shape the data strategy, clean up the foundations, and help deliver next-gen AI solutions with real impact across the business. With board-level support and funding, this is a high-profile leadership role with the mandate and momentum to drive change.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the re-structuring and governance of enterprise data to enable AI-driven insights.
• Identify and deliver high-value AI/ML use cases, particularly in drug development and commercial strategy.
• Build internal AI capability while overseeing and challenging external vendors.
• Translate complex technical insight into compelling business narratives for senior stakeholders.
• Act as a thought leader across the business, helping shape the broader data and digital strategy.

Who We’re Looking For

• A strategic technologist with deep experience in AI/ML and, ideally, exposure to LLMs (not required).
• Able to balance hands-on delivery with influencing at the highest levels of the organisation.
• Strong communicator, comfortable leading in fast-paced, change-heavy environments.
• Experience in pharma/biotech or other regulated industries is highly desirable.
• Open to those looking to step up into their first Head or/Director-level role, if the leadership presence and capability are clear.
