DevOps Engineer

On the lookout for DevOps Engineers to join a leading BioTech company. It would be an excellent opportunity to join a growing team in an organisation with rapid expansion plans.

Salary: £50,000 - £80,000

Location: Flexible Working (2-3 days in office), Oxford Area

About the Role

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be working as part of an agile team on greenfield and established projects using modern tools and cloud-based technologies. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, software developers and research engineers to help us build upon a proven record of success. Ultimately, you will execute and automate operational processes fast, accurately, and securely.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Experience with one of the major cloud vendors - they use AWS but would be open to candidates experienced in GCP/Azure if you're comfortable moving across to AWS.

  • Experience supporting software engineering teams delivering large scale web platforms.

  • Experience with Infrastructure as code services such as CloudFormation or Terraform.

  • Proven software engineering ability - you don't need to be a fully-fledged developer, but we would expect you to be familiar with at least the basics of coding, ideally in Python or Golang.

  • Strong scripting skills, ideally with Python or Bash.

  • Experience using open-source technologies and tools to accomplish specific use cases encountered within the project

  • Proven ability with database technologies such as Oracle, Postgres, DynamoDB, Athena, Neo4J

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (Non-Essential).

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence requirements.

  • To promote DevOps best practises such as planning, implementation, testing and developing CI/CD

  • To perform incremental testing actions on code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline execution and minimize errors encountered.
