IT Desktop Support Engineer

Location:65936, Frankfurt (5 sites). On-site role.

Salary: €60,000 – €65,000

Benefits: Bonus + €960 personal allowance + €50 per month (lunch) + €100 per month (pension) + disability protection + life insurance + health & dental cover.

Travel: Ability to travel within Europe, including the UK

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused IT Desktop Support Engineer to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will provide onsite desktop support with a focus on outstanding customer service. You will be responsible for addressing and resolving complex technical issues and requests related to computer hardware and software, supporting users across various European locations, and ensuring clear communication throughout the resolution process.

Key Responsibilities

  • End User Technical Support: Deliver excellent customer service by supporting users with their technical issues and requests via Global Service Desk, Microsoft Teams, and onsite desk-side visits.
  • Audio/Visual Support: Support and maintain audio/visual technology equipment, including video conference meetings.
  • Software Support: Troubleshoot and support software deployment and provide hands-on assistance for common applications such as Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
  • Hardware Support: Manage the unboxing, imaging, configuration, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, printers, monitors, and docking stations.
  • Infrastructure Support: Provide hands-on support for wired and wireless networking, remote access, VPN, and multi-factor authentication.
  • Vendor and Team Collaboration: Work closely with IT vendors, internal departments, and global IT teams to support projects and service levels.
  • Asset Management: Track and manage hardware inventory and execute system setups, breakdowns, and office moves.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 4+ years of IT support experience in a strong Microsoft environment (Windows 10/11, Office 365, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Certification: ITIL v3/4 Foundation certified.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent knowledge of Microsoft products, server and network technologies, and infrastructure support.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, customer relationship building, and ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with peers, management, and external vendors.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in both German and English
