Desktop Engineer

Role: Desktop Support Engineer
Salary: Up to £30,000 + Bonus + Benefit
Location: Nottingham - 5 days a week on site with some travel

Job Responsibilities:
* Responsible for updating Service Desk tickets and ensuring that tickets are within the agreed SLAs.
* Provide professional, thorough and timely user support including resolving desktop, laptop, mobile device, printers
* Assist with the setting up new users (provisioning new desktop, laptop, smartphone, systems access and email accounts) and performing internal user moves
* Systems orientation for new users and training sessions for the business with new deployments and technologies
* Active Directory User Administration tasks
* Basic application support with core Microsoft applications
* Escalating and collaborating with incidents to other IT departments for speedy resolutions.
* Willingness to undertake new tasks and projects
* Providing an excellent IT service to end users ensuring that their issues are resolved and communicated.
* Provisioning of new desktops and laptops using the global standard image

Skills and Key Competencies:
* Working knowledge of IT systems in a business environment covering Microsoft platforms
* General understanding the hardware and applications
* Able to work quickly & accurately across different technologies to maximize team value
* Willingness to learn and enhance their abilities via training to develop their technical skills
* Proven analytical and problem solving abilities to ensure that solutions are delivered within SLA
* Collaborative with excellent communication skills - able to work closely with colleagues both within IT and across the wider business.
* Ability to communicate in a technical and non-technical manner depending on the audience
* Approachable, "Can-Do" attitude, Responsive, Helpful
* Self-confident, realistic about own capabilities and keen to learn

Education and Experience:
* 2+ years of working experience in similar role in an International environment.
* Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft technologies
* Highly organized with excellent first/second line troubleshooting/ communication skills and ability to follow up on issues to resolution
* Experience with installing, configuring and administration of enterprise laptops, desktops, printers and smartphones.
* ITIL Certified (Desired)
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others
* Experience is working within an IT Service Delivery environment.
