Data Analyst / Scientist

Up to £31k base salary + benefits

As part of this billion pound FTSE 250 company you will be a data pioneer working closely with the Head of Data to break new ground in their analytics capability. As a catalyst for change you will be able to identify patterns in data and apply insights from this analysis in a business context, driving value generation.

  • Generate detailed analysis to help drive business change in a wide range of business activities across the Grafton Group
  • Take ownership for the establishment of data quality standards, their implementation, measurement and tracking
  • Be the Business Process Management (BPM) lead focused on improving performance and delivery by managing and optimising the businesses processes for all data management
  • Review current processes and implement people and technology solutions to solve issues and ensure efficiency gains are sustainable

To be successful in the role you must have:

  • Strong numeracy, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills and strong communicator
  • Be enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Process management and implementation skills
  • Advanced level Excel skills and ideally knowledge of advanced statistical tools and languages (R, Python etc.)
  • An understanding of IT systems and ability to work with technology solutions
  • The ability to manage several projects simultaneously to tight deadlines
  • Previous knowledge/experience of data quality and BI tools an advantage (Alteryx, DataFlux, Trillium, ProDiver, Business Objects etc.)

This is a role in which you will be developed to reach your career and professional goals with a solid training and induction program and direct input from the Head Of Data.
