Data Analyst - Power BI (1 DAY A WEEK)

We are looking for an outstanding, hands-on Power BI Data Analyst to work 1 day per week. Able to understand and interpret data, but also distilling its insights and influencing change in the organisation. You should have a proven record of collecting, interpreting and disseminating data. Experience of this in the retail or ecommerce sector would be an added bonus.

Day to day activities:

  • Analyse and interpret data utilising Power BI and other tools to distill useful insights in easy to understand delivery for the less data-minded
  • Demonstrate the value of clear and concise information to support decision making
  • Continually help to improve dashboards and insights with A/B testing, to enable learning across all departments (back-office, retail, e-comm, tech)
  • Communicate complex ideas in a clear, precise, yet accessible way
  • Gaining an understanding of the underlying data models and data availability to help ensure a richness to the insights developed.
  • Working in an Agile environment to meet business priorities

Skills and Experience:

  • You will have at least 2 years' experience in a similar Data Analyst role
  • At least 18 months experience of using Power BI
  • 3 Years plus knowledge of MS-SQL server and SSRS
  • You must the skill to leverage full frontend capabilities and have the technical skill set to understand the impact on the backend.
  • You must be highly proficient working with data tools
  • You will be able to assess data and identify important trends and insights amongst the numbers.
  • You should be a confident communicator, capable of building strong, supportive relationships and making data intelligible to all departments.
  • You should be good at influencing these departments to make smarter decisions.
  • Ability to tackle complex questions in a pragmatic way

Desirable:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of key metrics used in finance, warehousing, retail and e-commerce
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
  • Have good interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills
  • Can work effectively - as part of a team and alone - showing meticulous attention to detail
  • Displays enthusiasm for constantly learning new skills, tools, and techniques and teaching these to a wider team
