About the Company:

Our client, an established and expanding player in the worldwide insurance industry, is seeking a Financial Systems Data Analyst to join their Finance Data Systems Analysts Team within the Group & Enterprise Services Technology department. They are looking for a highly intelligent, results-driven professional with strong investigative and written communication skills to join their reconciliation and reporting team.

Job Description:

The Financial Systems Data Analyst will have the primary responsibility of reviewing data discrepancies identified by both the business and automated reconciliation systems. They will use their analytical skills to interrogate the data, collaborate with stakeholders, and meticulously document the root causes of issues. This role requires a dedication to customer service as the successful candidate will follow up on issues until they are resolved.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform data interrogation activities across various SQL data instances.
• Produce high-quality deliverables, including materiality analysis and defect stories.
• Foster strong relationships with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external third-party partners to enhance data quality and reporting.
• Serve as the go-to resource for inquiries related to system usage within their area of expertise.
• Support system and UAT test teams by helping them understand changes and reviewing test cases to ensure full coverage.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the Data Analyst function, participating in the establishment of standards, procedures, and knowledge transfer processes.
• Adhere to the IT System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards and methodology and support delivery activities throughout the project life cycle.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a data analyst, test analyst, or developer in an MS SQL and/or AZURE environment.
• At least 2 years of exposure to one or more of the following disciplines: Solution Design, Data Warehouse, Modeling, and Business Intelligence experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server technologies or other SQL variants.
• Strong understanding and commitment to data quality.
• Ability to explain technical data issues and concepts to business stakeholders and senior management using business terminology.
• Expertise in using data preparation tools like Alteryx Designer, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, MS Power Platform.

Beneficial:

• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Teams, or similar collaboration tools.
• Data mining capabilities.
• Experience with data/system integration and a strong ability to identify dependencies.
• Experience operating within an agile and hybrid development environment.
• Exposure to large-scale projects/programs and working in a matrix environment with third-party suppliers.
