Communications Program Manager
Remote - 6month contract - 3 to 4 days per week

Our client is a specialist consultancy who partner with senior leaders and their teams in the pharma and life sciences industries, to accelerate performance, facilitate change and enhance leadership success. The have just been appointed to lead a major global transformation project for a top 10 pharmaceutical company, redefining the purpose and implementing new ways of working for a key global comms function.

They are looking for a Communications Program Manager to join their team on a part time basis of 3-4 days per week. The role will be a combination of execution and strategy, with a program management approach at its core, managing multiple workflows end-to-end. As Communications Program Manager, you will be responsible for scoping the parameters of each project. You will develop project plans, lead regular reviews of project progress, manage, track and reconcile budgets for your workstream, and you will lead the evaluation process at the end of each project ensuring compliance and best practice.

Key responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of the end-to-end delivery of all workstreams assigned to you. Ensuring they are scoped and delivered within the timescale and to budget.
  • Engage Workstream Lead and workstream contributors throughout projects
  • On occasion, write content for workshops and other milestone reviews e.g. slide decks
  • Develop plans of activities, timelines and RACI charts
  • Create and monitor budgets based on scope, activities and resources in partnership with the finance team
  • Manage project communications and client stakeholder engagement on delivery

We are looking for senior program manager with relevant project management and communications experience in consulting environments.

Key skills:

  • Demonstrable understanding of communications and a track record of communications project delivery.
  • Demonstrable experience in seeing multiple simultaneous projects through the whole lifecycle, in budget and on time.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity towards practical, pragmatic plans that are aligned to client needs
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to be an expert communicator. You will need the confidence to communicate with senior stakeholders across the business, establish yourself as a SME for communications within the business and be able to influence key leaders to ensure project delivery.
