Role: Cloud Platform Engineer
Location: London/Remote (1 day a week onsite as a minimum)
Salary: 60,000 – £70,000 + Bonus + Benefits

The position:

  • The role of the Cloud Platform Engineer is to support and develop a reliable, resilient infrastructure to meet current and future business needs.
  • The role will be the lead engineer responsible for development and provision of IaaS and PaaS Solutions in Azure, creating designs to best practices and aligned to security frameworks.
  • The role will work closely with the infrastructure teams to ensure a consistent approach across the group.
  • The role will also work with the Security teams to ensure the estate is secure.
  • You will instil a culture of automation across Azure workloads, automating as many processes as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Azure infrastructure across the group, ensuring adherence to Governance and Security policies
  • Develop and maintain documentation for migration processes, best practices, and architectural guidelines.
  • Use DevOps tooling to create repeatable deployment and management methods for Azure resources.
  • Ensure the availability, performance, and security of cloud environments.
  • Helps to drive technical enhancements across the Azure tenant, proactively identifying areas for improvement
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery initiatives including regular testing and ensure skills and knowledge across systems are maintained in order to assist with DR invocation.
  • Problem management, including root cause analysis and pro-active identification of infrastructure risks and issues
  • Contributing to the IT roadmap and service improvement plans for infrastructure services, with particular focus on Microsoft technologies
  • Implementing changes in line with the IT change management process and CAB
  • Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies, industry trends, and Microsoft Azure updates to continually enhance the organization’s cloud capabilities.
  • Ensure Data Retention and Residency requirements are met
