Chief Data Officer

Data Science & AI

This is a chance to join a global business during a transformative stage and actively contribute to the journey and ultimate destination of the data capability and organisation as a whole. As CDO you will be responsible for managing a large team consisting of 4 key units: Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Management, Research. This spans the breadth of data capabilities in the organisation.

With a focus on Data Science and Engineering you will have a strong working knowledge of these areas and likely have worked as a data scientist, engineer or similar at some point in your career.

In the role you will:

  • Define and execute Data Science, Analytics and AI strategy
  • Steer global Data Sciences and regional science teams to provide optimal support for development and client projects
  • Develop and steer data management and governance processes
  • Optimize accessibility and leverage of internal and external data assets
  • Develop requirements for analytics, Data Science, end to end solution, machine learning and applied AI technologies
  • Develop purposeful analytical end to end solutions
  • Position business as thought leader in Data Science, applied AI, data integration and predictive analytics

You'll have:

  • Ability to run a horizontal expert function in an agile, KPI tracked organization that delivers success
  • Expert understanding of analytical marketing solutions & data driven marketing environment
  • Expert understanding of Data Science, applied AI and analytical trends
  • Solid understanding of data management, governance and privacy standards
  • Solid knowledge of analytic programming languages (e.g., Python, R)
  • Expert statistical modeling skills (e.g, predictive models)
  • Solid knowledge of optimization and / or machine learning and / or deep learning algorithms
  • Solid to expert knowledge of the constantly evolving Data Science ecosystem and its frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark MLlib, H2O, Tensorflow, Torch, Theano)
  • Solid skills with regard to working in Big Data environments
  • Solid skills with regard to database handling, SQL, NoSQL
  • Solid knowledge of agile development frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, )
  • Solid understanding of Big Data Architectures
  • Solid understanding of AI environments
  • Basic to solid knowledge of cloud computing environments and tooling (AWS, Azure, Jupiter notebook, R-studio server)
  • Solid skills in open data sourcing
  • Ability to think creatively in addressing analytical objectives
  • Ability to translate and clearly communicate sophisticated analytical information to none-expert stakeholders and clients
  • Proven project management skills
  • Proven client facing skills
  • Proven management skills with extended span of command (>30 FTEs, multiple teams, multiple locations)
  • Proven budget planning and management skills
  • Ability to fluidly communicate in an English business environment
