Our client is a well-funded, exciting, early stage and award winning FinTech disruptor, transforming and digitising all types of payments. They have an industry-leading depth of knowledge and experience allowing them to deliver stand out Open Banking powered payments solutions that are changing the UK payments market. They are the leading edge of Open Banking developments, working intimately with standards bodies, regulators and banks to maximise the potential of their services to transform payments.

After a recent substantial investment and a number of high-profile partenership launches, they are looking for a Business Development Manager who will be at the heart of sourcing appropriate channel partners and initially generating business through newly-won channels to our end market segments. In essence, this means you are responsible for bringing on board these new channel partners and establishing sales opportunities within their clients.

With a focus on deploying technology to deliver innovative business enhancing services, the company operates in a growing number of interesting market sectors in the UK and has plans to grow internationally. You will be expected to be able to operate largely self-sufficiently (with support from your colleagues and our agencies) and, whilst they offer home-based hybrid working, it is anticipated you will have regular visits to our shared office space at Nationwide Building Society's new Digital Hub in Holborn, Central London.

Job Function:

  • Developing new channel partners in the market segments we target

  • Taking a lead role in the development of the commercial proposals and presentations necessary to create and nurture business opportunities through these partnerships

  • Identify trends and customer needs within our partner's client base, building a short/medium/long-term sales pipeline in accordance with targets

  • Develop revenues through our clients channel partners by supporting their sales teams to understand and therefore pitch our client's proposition effectively to their clients.

  • Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers and meet regularly with management and stakeholders to discuss strategy

  • Manage proposal (eg for RFPs) response process for nominated channels, including detailed RFP requirements, content creation and overseeing inputs from various sources across our client in support of the timely delivery and optimum positioning of our client in our own or partner's responses.

  • Develop and implement overarching outbound sales and business development strategy, sales processes, structure, and best practices across the company

  • Support deal structure and pricing with business value analysis; recommend pricing for both proactive bids to and with our channel partners, as well as their responses to RfPs

  • Attend channel events where required and help with delivering messages and collateral

  • Maintain and share professional industry, market segments targeted and functional knowledge through education, networking, events and presentations

Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience at securing substantive both transactional and recurring revenue wins through our channel partners

  • Proven experience in delivering effective demonstrations and presentations of new technological solutions

  • Demonstrable experience with applying proven sales techniques, specifically in securing channel partners in a B2B SaaS environment

  • Demonstrable experience of successfully developing and closing SaaS sales through indirect distribution channels into one or more market sectors targeted by our client including:

  • Wealth Management (incl Pensions and Investment), Insurance Broking, FX, Credit & Lending, Local and Central Govt, Utilities, Telcos & ISPs, Vehicle Distribution (on and offline), Travel (online and offline booking), Estate & Rental Agents and Education
