Rates: up to £540/day

Our London based financial services client is currently looking for an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer with strong networking skills to join them on an initial 6 month contract. The successful candidate will work within a software development team to provide infrastructure operations development and support. You will work with DevOps engineers to develop, deliver and support the DevOps pipeline for the development team to enable delivery of in-scope application systems as well as meeting business requirements using a range of Agile techniques and knowledge of software and infrastructure development.

Responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining the overall vision for the delivery pipeline and ensuring applicability for the teams' project delivery processes as well as the documentation of the design and implementation strategy. You will lead the CI/CD pipeline design in conjunction with solution architecture teams and work on the implementation of pipeline and dependent tooling in conjunction with suppliers and IT Operations. You will also look at monitoring and feedback cycles design and implementation as well as ensuring effective solution rollout into teams and existing applications

Key Skills:

  • Excellent experience of working on cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Production experience of containers and container orchestration tools (Docker/Kuberntes/ECS)
  • Experience in working with enterprise scale applications, API Gateways, high availability architectures, load balancing & disaster recovery
  • Knowledge of application and cloud security fundamentals
  • Experience of setting up CI/CD pipelines including production deployments
  • Solid troubleshooting skills
  • Experience building and working with logging and metrics solutions (ELK/Datadog/Prometheus/Grafana)
  • Commercial experience of at least one configuration management tool (Ansible/Puppet/Salt/Chef)
  • Knowledge of testing pyramids and their application to modern application architectures (microservices/SPAs)
  • Knowledge of modern infrastructure practices
  • Demonstrable experience of debugging applications in at least one major language (e.g. Java/Python/NodeJS/Go)
  • Knowledge of at least one package/dependency management system (e.g. Maven/Gradle/NPM/Composer/Yarn)
  • In depth experience of Git including development and feature based workflows and at least one Git solution (e.g. Github/Gitlab/Gerrit/Bitbucket)
