Senior AWS Consultant

Following a number of key acquisitions, HPE are investing heavily into their hybrid cloud consulting team as they look to deliver larger and more complex solutions to a bigger range of clients. As such, HPE are looking for talented and driven individuals to join the team across the UK across their AWS Practice.

The Team

The Hybrid practice engages in activates across a number of industry sectors and works in close collaboration with other practices.

Within the AWS Practice, you will be involved in designing and implementing AWS cloud environments for a vast range of clients at an enterprise level.

With a client list spanning the UK, HPE are open to speaking to individuals across a variety of locations.

The Role

The purpose of the Senior AWS Consultant role is to work with the Practice Lead to scope projects, lead client workshops, produce high-quality design documentation, and oversee the implementation of AWS cloud solutions for our clients.

As well as technical and project leadership, candidates must possess the highest level of presentation, communication and professionalism.

Required skills include:

  • Provide technical project leadership
  • Comfortable leading technical and commercial workshops
  • Experience in communicating at the CxO level
  • Commercial awareness, proactively defining other areas for improvement
  • Subject-matter expertise in the design & configuration of core AWS services such as EC2, S3, EBS, ELB, VPC, Route 53
  • Experience combining multiple AWS services to produce customer solutions and business outcomes
  • Position yourself as a trusted advisor to HPE's clients, and partner with them to understand their requirements for cloud implementations.
  • Provide recommendations to clients with respect to cloud migrations and prepare technical implementation roadmaps for AWS adoption.
  • Travel and work onsite at client locations
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field (or the equivalent work experience)

Desirable skills:

  • Experience with AWS managed database services, such as RDS, DynamoDB & RedShift
  • Experience with AWS deployment services, such as CloudFormation and Elastic Beanstalk
  • AWS certification in any of the following - Solutions Architect, Developer or Systems Ops.
  • Experience working within the financial sector

Soft skills:

  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communications skills.
  • Strong team skills including the ability to lead and be a team player.
  • Ability to mentor junior members of staff
  • Experience in client facing roles in large enterprises and demonstrated client facing consulting skills, including building strong client relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail
