Automation Test Engineer (Mobile, Java, Appium)

We are working with a Software-as-a-Service platform that empowers retailers to create highly effective and fully customised native apps in record time. Apps that allow them to build stronger brands, sell more of their products, deepen customer loyalty and deliver highly relevant content, communications and rewards.

They are currently seeking an Automation Engineer who will perform a crucial role in building and releasing an amazing product for their growing list of global customers.

The role is an ideal fit for someone who is passionate about mobile technology, product design, user experience and platform engineering.

What you'll be doing

  • Identifying and testing acceptance criteria for front and back-end components as part of the planning process

  • Creating and maintaining test automation scripts

  • Driving greater integration test automation and coverage through coaching and collaboration with Dev teams

  • Identifying and delivering opportunities to automate testing processes at all levels

  • Creating, running and maintaining load tests

  • Manual and exploratory testing of new features, designs and releases

  • Writing and executing test scripts and test instructions

  • Filing bugs and communicating with the team about any issues that arise

  • Advising on testing improvements and assisting with the roll out of test automation

  • Reporting on key quality metrics like test coverage, defect analysis, root causes

  • Actively driving improvements in Development and QA processes and tooling based on data ,KPIs and feedback

  • Staying abreast of technology and industry changes, suggesting internal adoption where appropriate

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years QA experience, front end and backend

  • 1+ years Mobile Test Automation experience

  • Use of API testing tools such as Postman and Charles

  • Exposure to using load testing tools such as JMeter and Gatling

  • Use of automation testing tools such as appium for mobile apps and webdriver io for web application

  • Device agnostic e.g. appreciation of the differences between iOS and Android

  • Experience of working with an automation framework
