Solarwinds Administrator

Solarwinds Administrator - Market Rate - Fully Remote -- Orion/Solarwinds platforms, administration support and operation of the Orion SolarWinds, Network monitoring protocol experience (eg: Syslog / SNMP / Snare).

Solarwinds Administrator with extensive experience developing and implementing complex Orion/Solarwinds platforms. The Solarwinds Administrator will need to have core competencies in the administration, support, and operation of the Orion SolarWinds platform; also experience working with NetApp storage (cluster mode) / Cisco UCS / FlexPod is advantageous. Solarwinds Administrator is required for a 4 Month Contract working international media key client- contract role - Fully Remote.

Solarwinds Administrator will ideally have the following experience:

  • Strong experience developing and implementing complex Orion/Solarwinds platforms
  • Core competencies in the administration, support, and operation of the Orion SolarWinds platform including Network Performance Monitor, Network Configuration Manager, Server & Application Monitor, NetFlow Traffic Analyzer and IP Address Manager.
  • Network monitoring protocol experience (eg: Syslog / SNMP / Snare).
  • Experience of networking, routing, firewalls, proxies and load balancing

Responsibilities:

  • Help the business implement an end-to-end monitoring platform for its IT services
  • Provide proactive visibility of all IT systems using SolarWinds monitoring
  • Create dashboards to show different views of technology stack status
  • Identify alerts based on type, severity, and impact, then assist with categorising alerts so only relevant and actionable alerts are reported in dashboards.
  • Create automated escalation paths for different severity alerts
  • Create service-based reporting metrics for alert activity (mean time to resolve alerts etc)
  • Implement compliance-based monitoring and reporting to automatically demonstrate compliance with audit and security baselines
  • Manage all add-ons and integrations
  • Provide user training
  • Manage and own any documentation to aid support of the monitoring platform
