Data Platform Engineer (AWS, Python) – Remote – Contract

La Fosse is partnered with a global, modern and innovative SaaS business looking to hire a Senior Data Platform Engineer (AWS, Python) on an initial 3-month contract basis.

• Location: Remote, candidates must be UK based 
• Duration: 3 months initial (possible extension)
• Start date: Early June, 2026

You’ll instantly have an impact in a highly talented team which processes billions of data points each day to power machine learning solutions, which are critical for their customer facing platform. The role focuses on AWS infrastructure, IaC (Terraform), large-scale data pipelines, and real-time data processing.

The role:

• Lead data infrastructure initiatives across AWS, including an IaC migration
• Optimise key Spark pipelines to improve reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Extend Kafka services to support new real-time data integrations for ML systems, internal teams, and customers.

Experience needed:

• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code on AWS, ideally Terraform – with experience owning infrastrucure at scale 
• Expertise in Python, building data-intensive systems
• Experience optimising Spark pipelines in production.
• Proven Kafka experience in production environments
