Technical Analyst – Business to Architecture Bridge
Hybrid – Waterloo (1 day per week, Mondays)
£500 per day (Contract)
1-stage interview | Immediate start
We’re working with a major rail organisation undergoing significant digital transformation across multiple operating companies.
They’re looking for a Technical Analyst to operate at the intersection of Business, Product and Architecture — translating evolving business requirements into structured technical artefacts that enable architects to begin solution design.
This is not a generic BA role. It’s an embedded, architecture-aligned position within a complex, federated environment.
The Role
You will:
-
Translate business and product requirements into technical documentation suitable for architecture
-
Work closely with solution architects to shape integration-ready inputs
-
Engage across multiple rail operating businesses
-
Navigate ambiguity and bring structure to evolving requirements
-
Support integration design across APIs, cloud environments and legacy systems
-
Contribute to the development of a colleague-facing digital app used across train companies
-
Manage senior and sometimes challenging stakeholders
You’ll need to be comfortable operating in an environment where not everything is defined — bringing clarity, structure and delivery focus.
What We’re Looking For
-
Strong Technical Business Analyst experience
-
Proven ability to bridge business and architecture
-
Experience working on system integrations / APIs
-
Comfortable producing structured technical artefacts (BRDs, user stories, data flows, interface documentation)
-
Experience in cloud-enabled environments (Azure / AWS beneficial)
-
Strong stakeholder management capability
-
Experience in transport, rail, utilities or other regulated multi-entity environments is advantageous
Why This Role?
-
High-impact work across multiple rail organisations
-
Exposure to architecture-level decision making
-
Opportunity to shape colleague-facing digital capability
-
