Platform Engineer (AWS / OpenShift)
Location: London, Bristol, or Edinburgh (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office)
Salary: £70,000 – £85,000 DOE + bonus + 15% pension
Join a well-established engineering team responsible for one of the most critical container platforms in the organisation – Red Hat OpenShift running on AWS.
You’ll work within a collaborative team of five Platform Engineers, supporting and evolving a mature container platform that hosts a range of business-critical customer-facing services. This isn’t greenfield, it’s a technically rich, high-impact environment where you’ll help refine, automate, and modernise an already well-run platform to make it as seamless as possible for developers to consume.
- Delivering and continuously improving OpenShift platforms on AWS
- Automating infrastructure delivery using Terraform and GitOps principles
- Enhancing reliability, performance, and security of the platform
- Supporting onboarding of new workloads and services
- Working on projects to make the platform more self-healing and developer-friendly
- Collaborating closely with DevEx teams and other internal engineering squads
You’ll bring:
- 3+ years’ experience in platform or infrastructure engineering
- 2+ years with container platforms (OpenShift or Kubernetes)
- Strong AWS knowledge and Infrastructure as Code skills (Terraform)
- Good understanding of Linux, scripting (Python / Bash), and automation
- Familiarity with CI/CD, change and release processes, and agile environments
- An understanding of regulated environments, as well as governance and security best practices
