Role Summary

This role is responsible for managing System Safety within steering systems, focusing on requirement engineering and working with system architecture elements. A strong understanding of ISO 26262 for Functional Safety is essential.

You will operate within a Vehicle Engineering Research and Development environment, contributing to vehicle programs. The fast-paced development environment requires a proactive engineer who can rapidly adapt to new challenges and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary and global teams. High standards of quality and delivery are expected.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver System Safety activities for various vehicle platforms.

  • Develop ASIL D safety requirements in compliance with ISO 26262.

  • Collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure accurate delivery of safety-critical components.

  • Work with the System Architecture team to define safety requirements and design at Customer Feature (CF) and Product Feature (PF) levels.

  • Support supplier acquisition processes and Engineering Statement of Work (ESOW) for safety aspects.

  • Collaborate with the testing team to verify and validate safety requirements, including vehicle fault injection testing.

  • Review test cases to ensure coverage of system safety requirements.

  • Apply basic electronic design knowledge to support safety analyses.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields.

  • 7+ years of experience in automotive systems development.

  • Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 Functional Safety processes.

  • Experience in requirements engineering, including exploratory requirements analysis.

  • Familiar with CAN communication protocols, and tools like CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape.

  • Experience with Simulink, diagnostics (UDS), and testing in both simulation and physical vehicle environments.

  • Understanding of ASPICE development processes.

  • Knowledge of System Weaver (CarWeaver) for system modeling.

  • Familiarity with Teamcenter (TCe) for engineering data management.

  • Solid understanding of vehicle network communications and embedded systems.

  • Excellent communication skills in English.

  • Possession of a valid Swedish Category B driving license/ EU driving licensee
