What is the role of an IT Consultant?
As an IT Consultant, you will be responsible for evaluating a company's IT system in order to help them use information technology in a way that meets business goals. As part of your responsibilities, you will also analyse a company's IT infrastructure, understand a client's business requirements, and design and implement technology solutions that meet their needs.
Responsibilities
Establishing project goals and identifying information system needs
Assess the IT architecture and system of a business
Identifying and resolving weaknesses, errors, and issues in IT systems
Creating, implementing, and testing new hardware and software
Teach and train employees to use new IT systems
Create thorough reports on a technology's effectiveness
Acknowledging and understanding the needs of the client's business
Identifying and analysing security risks

Qualifications
Previous experience as an IT Consultant or in a similar role
A degree in computer science, information systems or similar degree
A critical thinker with a problem-solving mentality
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Be able to work under pressure and meet set deadlines
Ability to communicate technical information to colleagues and clients outside the IT industry
Experience resolving hardware, software, and network issues
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Have project management experience
