Head of Applications and Business Solutions

This is an exciting time in the digital journey for our three councils.

Camden, Haringey and Islington councils have created a shared digital and ICT service. Our decision to share a digital and ICT service will enhance our services to residents and save costs. More importantly, the shared service will deliver an ambitious programme of change and transformation, saving over £6 million a year across the three boroughs.

Cllr Georgia Gould, Camden’s Leader said, “I am delighted that we are establishing a shared digital and ICT service with Haringey and Islington. Digital technology plays an increasingly important role across service delivery, and citizen engagement is key in our ambitious plans. We are working together with our partners to deliver the services that local people need in the way that they want.”

We use a wide range of technologies to conduct our business as efficiently as possible and to deliver enhanced, and digital, services for our residents. These range from apps and web services, to assistive technology supporting innovative social care. Digital technology also plays a key role in supporting our staff across the three councils, enabling flexible and mobile working, saving time and money while delivering better services across our boroughs.

Lesley Seary, Islington’s Chief Executive said, “This exciting partnership with Camden and Haringey will help us to deliver innovative digital solutions that transform our services. Using data better is a priority for the council that underpins our digital ambitions and our priorities around improving the lives of our residents – including making Islington a fairer place.”

We are establishing a new Senior Leadership Team to direct and oversee our new shared service. From working with colleagues across the councils transforming the way we work, to ensuring that our ICT offer for staff is second to none, we play a key role in shaping and driving forward ambitious innovation for the councils. We believe that with a digital approach and mind-set our councils can rise to meet the significant financial challenges and increasing demand on critical services across public service and our councils.

Tracie Evans, Haringey’s Interim Deputy Chief Executive said, “Working with our partners in Camden and Islington to innovate and improve services is a cornerstone in our strategy, and underpins our approach to continuing our improvement and better digital services for our citizens.”

We are building our team and the councils’ new shared service together. We are thinking differently about how we can lead and deliver the innovative solutions that Camden, Haringey and Islington need. The changes we are making are the start of our journey, and these roles are an opportunity to join us and take your career to a new level.

We are looking for people with fresh ideas, different perspectives and the necessary skills to play a key part in our journey of integration and transformation, helping us find new ways to make progress against our strategies.
