DevOps #32 with Secret Escapes

London DevOps Meetup was hosted on the 15th February in partnership with Secret Escapes.

 

The La Fosse DevOps Meetup is for IT executives, DevOps evangelists, and technical specialists to share insights, build relationships, and learn how to drive the behavioural changes needed to achieve a DevOps culture.

The evening consisted of short presentations by our invited industry leading speakers, followed by a Q&A session, and networking.

6:45pm - Welcome Talk

7:00pm - Martin Lee: Adventures using Rancher in Production

Billforward is a London and San Francisco based enterprise billing startup that was keen to find a container orchestration framework that worked well for them. Martin will describe why they chose Rancher, what worked for them and what didn't, and what they are planning on doing in the coming months.

8:00pm - Ian Miell: Bash is Awesome

Bash is one of those tools almost all of us use, but rarely think about studying formally. This is a shame, as bash can be an awesome tool when you know your way around. In this talk, Ian will discuss some of the most common confusions and show you how you can up your bash game and impress your friends.

Ian Miell is a an Software Architect in Canary Wharf who has written books on 'Docker in Practice' (Manning) and 'Learn Bash the Hard Way' (Leanpub), and keeps a blog on zwischenzugs.com
