We sat down with a number of consultants across all levels of the business, so you can hear their story.

Here’s our next 60 second interview with Tom Collin, Senior Consultant - Projects & Programmes...

Q: What university did you attend, and what was your degree?

I attended the University of West England, gaining a First Class degree in Business Studies. I originally wanted to get into finance, however I soon learnt about the career opportunities that the recruitment industry offered.

Q: How long have you been working at La Fosse?

I've been here for 5 and a half years, joining the company in August 2011 (at which point the company was still considered a "start-up"!)

Q: What has been your favourite thing about working at La Fosse?

I had never given recruitment that much thought prior to joining La Fosse, but after I interviewed I realised this was definitely somewhere I could build a career.

Five and a half years in, there's a lot I've come to enjoy at La Fosse. Particularly, I really enjoy working in a high-performing environment with like-minded people; our co-owned structure means that we're all building this business together.

Finally, I've also truly enjoyed watching the organisation grow from 20 employees when I started, to over 150 employees today and expand internationally into the United States. Despite having significantly increased in size, the company culture has remained, which I think is brilliant.

Q: What’s your story at La Fosse so far?

When I joined, I started off as an associate on the Client Services Team where I developed a good grounding of business development, sales and client relationships. This invaluable experience gave me the foundations I needed to progress into a 360 delivery role. After speaking with my manager, I decided to move into the Perm Division, starting the Projects & Programmes desk. Three years on, I now manage a team of 4 and head up the Practice, within the Permanent Market.

Moving forward, I'm really excited to see our function continue to grow, and help my team members develop into experts within their market verticals.

Q: What do you like to do when you’re not working? Do you have any hobbies?

I really enjoy anything sport related, having played a lot of rugby and football as I grew up. I'm also a big Tottenham Hotspur fan and try to go to as many games as I can. Above all, when I have the opportunity, I like to travel outside the country to as many new places as possible.
