La Fosse in 60 Seconds: Q & A with Heidi Anderson, Manager - Digital Media & Development

03/01/2017 By Lily Senior

We sat down with a number of consultants across all levels of the business, so you can hear their story.

Here’s our next 60 second interview with Heidi Anderson, Manager - Digital Media & Development...

Q: What were you doing prior to joining La Fosse?

Immediately after completing my A-Levels, I spent four years travelling and working through Spain and Australia. Once I decided to make my way back to the UK, I got my first job in sales. I spent just under a year in this role before moving into tech recruitment, where I spent the next ten years with the same agency. I really progressed my career there, beginning as a trainee consultant on the Open Market desk, I was then promoted into a senior consultant role for Key Accounts Team on the contracts division. After spending a bit of time in that role, I realised I really wanted to manage a team, and so I started the digital desk, growing the function from scratch to 6 consultants.

Q: How long have you been working at La Fosse?

Four years - I joined La Fosse in January 2013.

Q: What made you choose La Fosse?

There are a few reasons, but the first thing I noticed about La Fosse was their caring and supportive culture. As an experienced recruiter, I could feel the difference from the moment I stepped through the door. After speaking with a few of the other managers and directors, I really appreciated La Fosse’s support for their staff’s well-being. From flexible working hours to free gym memberships, it was clear they really valued their employees’ health and well-being.

However, what really stuck out for me is that they built (and continue to build!) a working environment that is ambitious and high-performing, without losing focus on culture and values. Plus I think the co-owned structure really ensures that everyone is engaged in building this company without having to sacrifice either aspect.

Q: What has been your story at La Fosse so far?

I started as a manager on the contracts team as head of the digital practice. Over the last three years, I’ve grown this to a team of 10, with two managers who are now building out their own dev teams. We are currently the largest team on the contracts division.

Q: What do you like to do when you’re not working? Do you have any hobbies?

I just recently moved to Brighton, and enjoy spending time with my son and family. I also love to host the occasional house-party, and still enjoy traveling to new places and experiencing new cultures.
