“Royal Mail has a clear board level strategy to transform our organisation to enable it to prosper and grow in the liberalised postal market and the subsequent increased competition. Technology will be central to achieving this and we recently embarked on an ambitious recruitment drive to find and attract the best IS talent in the UK in large numbers and as rapidly as possible.
As is widely understood we are operating in a highly competitive IS marketplace characterised by acute skills shortages and a paucity of individuals with the outstanding interpersonal skills we needed. On top of this we were operating in an environment of negative press coverage from a variety of angles. These factors combined with the quantity of hires and timescales meant that we were faced with a significant challenge.
It was against this backdrop that we engaged with La Fosse Associates. Although they are a relatively young organisation we felt they had the capability, expertise, hunger and enthusiasm to attack it with the focus that we needed to succeed.
The reality has been much as we would have liked. After a very hectic couple of months we have already recruited over thirty senior people through a wide variety of different means, all driven and orchestrated by La Fosse Associates. The quality of people presented to us has been consistently high and subsequently the ratio of interviews to offers is excellent.
Ultimately, the success of this project has been a story of effective teamwork between La Fosse Associates and Royal Mail.We have worked hard to properly integrate LFA as a partner. They in turn have responded brilliantly, demonstrated their expertise and commitment and together we have produced some outstanding results.
For me there were two major contributors to the relationship:-
- La Fosse Associates’ ability to accurately and consistently convey the Royal Mail transformation challenge and story, and as a first engagement point portray from the very outset the “new” Royal Mail.
- Have the confidence and trust to challenge Royal Mail on where we needed to improve and raise our game.
In short, I am delighted with the outcome and have nothing but praise for the entire team at La Fosse; thank you!”
